About Geoff Cape, Co-founder & Executive Director of Evergreen
Geoff Cape is a co-founder of Evergreen and has been its executive director since its inception in 1991. Cape attended Trinity College School and Queen’s University, graduating in 1989 with a Bachelor of Arts. In 2002 he completed his Master of Management from McGill University in Montreal.
Cape is currently a board member of Parc Downsview Park, is on the Steering Committee of Lake Ontario Park, was a founding member of the World Entrepreneurship Forum – Evian 2008, is a past member of the Peter F. Drucker Foundation Selection Committee and was founding Chair of the Sustainability Network. In 1999, Cape was selected as one of Canada’s “Top 40 Under 40” by The Globe and Mail Report on Business magazine, and was honoured with the Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Medal in recognition of “Canadians who have made outstanding and exemplary contributions to their communities or to Canada as a whole.”
In 2005, Cape was inducted into an International Fellowship by Ashoka: Innovators for the Public. In 2007, Cape won the prestigious Schwab Foundation’s ‘Canadian Social Entrepreneur of the Year’ Award. Through this award, Cape joined an esteemed network of social entrepreneurs drawn from 26 countries worldwide who together addressed some of the world’s biggest social, environmental and economic issues.
In 2008 Cape accepted an Urban Leadership Award (ULA), on Evergreen’s behalf.
About Andrew Heintzman, President and co-founder of Investeco Capital
Investeco Capital was the first Canadian investment company to be exclusively focused on environmental sectors. Andrew is also the Chair of the Premier's Climate Change Advisory Panel for the Province of Ontario. He sits on a number of corporate boards, including Lotek Wireless, Triton Logging and Horizon Distributors. In addition, he is on the board of directors of the Tides Canada Foundation, the Steering Committee of Sustainable Prosperity and the Investement Committee for the Toronto Atmospheric Fund. Andrew was co-editor of Fueling the Future: How the Battle Over Energy is Changing Everything, Feeding the Future: From Fat to Famine, and Food and Fuel: Solutions for the Future, all published by the House of Anansi Press. Before Investeco, Andrew was a co-founder and publisher of Shift Magazine. He has a BA and MA from McGill University.
