Zama Coursen-Neff is counsel to the Children's Rights Division of Human Rights Watch, where she investigates and documents human rights violations. She has conducted research missions to Afghanistan, El Salvador, Israel, India, and Malaysia and has written about refugee protection, discrimination in education, the worst forms of child labor, and discrimination against women and girls. Prior to joining Human Rights Watch in 1999, she clerked for a federal judge, worked for various immigration-related non-profit organizations, and worked with development organizations in Honduras. She is a graduate of New York University School of Law and Davidson College.
